The New York Times has a lengthy piece on the 25th anniversary of Hannibal, a book I remember lining up to buy when it first came out, something that (thanks to the wonders of online shipping) I’ve never done again. A quarter-century later, its controversial ending still sparks arguments among crime-fiction and horror fans—I know this because I just set one off in an online forum, and I fully expect a dozen people to still be yelling at one another about it when I check back in a few hours.
